The Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians are on the road again on Saturday to play the Centralia Orphans at 10:00 a.m. Carlyle will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Thursday, Carlyle beat Okawville 5-2.
Matthew Guthrie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Guthrie was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Butler, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jon Schmitt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
