Mohawk strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Carey Blue Devils get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-1 last Wednesday.

Aubrey Gottfried made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Woodland, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Emily Brickner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Mohawk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Mohawk's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for Carey, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
