Last Wednesday, Tarpon Springs came up short against Anclote and fell 48-40. Tarpon Springs has struggled against Anclote recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Tarpon Springs saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Emily Cartier, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Mylena Bedford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Seminole scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over Indian Rocks Christian.
It was another big night for Laney Pearson, who scored 19 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Follett, who scored 12 points.
Tarpon Springs bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Seminole, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
Monday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Tarpon Springs have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 22.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Seminole, though, as they've been averaging only 22.5 rebounds per game. Given Tarpon Springs' sizeable advantage in that area, Seminole will need to find a way to close that gap.
