Davian Stephenson Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Chowchilla got the W thanks in part to Davian Stephenson playing the best football he has all season. Stephenson rushed for 290 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (100.7). He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Chowchilla pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Stephenson will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Minarets on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Talan Lamattina Leads Liberty over Minarets
Liberty was led to victory by Talan Lamattina, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lamattina rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Minarets's probably not too fond of Lamattina given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Lamattina saw the Mustangs), he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Xaidyn Camacho Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Xaidyn Camacho produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Riverdale to the win on Friday. Camacho rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Yosemite had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Camacho it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Camacho saw the Badgers), he rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Smith Came Up Big in Fowler's 55-29 Defeat
While Jerod "Bubba" Smith delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Fowler. Smith was unstoppable, throwing for 396 yards and four touchdowns.
Fowler's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. Smith and Fowler will head out to square off against Riverdale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Ethan Dunn Turns in Season-Best Performance
Liberty was led to victory by Ethan Dunn, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Dunn rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made four total tackles.
This season, Dunn has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 43.1 rushing yards per game.
