The Twentynine Palms Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Desert Hot Springs at home and fell 50-7. Twentynine Palms was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Desert Hot Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Davis, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Glaspie, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Twentynine Palms' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Desert Hot Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Twentynine Palms will head out on the road to face off against Yucca Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Yucca Valley's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Twentynine Palms has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Desert Hot Springs will take on Cathedral City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
