Basketball Recap: Union County Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Union County had won three straight home games and Gavin Jenkins did his part to make it four on Friday. The Union County Fightin' Tigers enjoyed a cozy 74-55 win over the Interlachen Rams thanks in part to Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Jeppson Dang was another key player, putting up five points and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Interlachen still got an impressive performance from Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrance Haynes, who posted ten points.

Union County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Interlachen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Union County has already played their next match, a 65-47 victory against Baker County on the 25th. As for Interlachen, they will host Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
