Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valle Catholic). Everything went their way against Arcadia Valley on Monday as they made off with a 22-4 victory. The Warriors have beaten the Tigers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Reece Weiler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Weiler was even better at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Weiler is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Jayci Palmer was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Vaeth, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Valle Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Bismarck's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Valle Catholic, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bismarck has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. However, it's not like Valle Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .541. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
