Jeannette is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Monessen is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Jeannette Jayhawks will take on the Monessen Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Jeannette made easy work of Riverview and carried off a 75-54 victory.
Jeannette got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayce Powell out in front who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Markus McGowan, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Monessen scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 90-59 victory over California. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jeannette has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Monessen, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
Jeannette came up short against Monessen in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 69-59. Will Jeannette have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
