The Wray Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Highland Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last four games Wray has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Wray took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Yuma, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Indians 11-9. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Indians on their field since April 30, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Carson Helling, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brodie Riggleman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Highland unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Merino by a score of 10-9.
Brandon Garcia and Byron Berkheimer did some serious damage despite the final result: Garcia went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Berkheimer went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Berkheimer has become a key player for Highland: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Shawn Dutton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Wray is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wray has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wray might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Highland in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
