The Eastern Tech Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Carver A&T Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Eastern Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Eastern Tech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 37 points or more this season. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-29 win over Sparrows Point. That looming 71-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Eastern Tech yet this season.
Eastern Tech can attribute much of their success to Talan Brooks, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jericho Wondeye, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Carver A&T's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Lansdowne 73-40. Carver A&T has struggled against Lansdowne recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The victory makes it two in a row for Eastern Tech and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Carver A&T, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Eastern Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Carver A&T when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 54-42. Does Eastern Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carver A&T turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
