Greensburg has gone 9-1 against Lawrenceburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Greensburg Pirates will square off against the Lawrenceburg Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Greensburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on South Decatur with a sharp 65-40 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Jack Mckinsey was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 11 en route to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Miller, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and five assists.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Greensburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg's game on Saturday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Jac-Cen-Del 64-45. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Eagles are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lawrenceburg had a senior duo take command as Noah Knigga almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards and JP Izzo went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points. Knigga is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Ollie Safaviyan was another key player, putting up eight points.
Lawrenceburg's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Greensburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Greensburg has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lawrenceburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Greensburg couldn't quite finish off Lawrenceburg in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 38-36. Can Greensburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
