The Cass Colonels lost against the Cartersville Hurricanes on January 12th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. Cass'  tough  56-31 defeat to the Hurricanes  might stick with them for a while. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cass in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now lost five in a row.
 Cartersville found their leader in underclassman  Kaytlin Arnold, who  scored 22 points along with seven  steals. Arnold continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Zoie Shiflett, who  scored nine points along with five  rebounds and two  steals.
 Cass' defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 13-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Cartersville, Dalton, and Calhoun. As for Cartersville, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cass will take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Calhoun and the Colonels are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Cartersville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Catamounts at 6:00  p.m.  on January 30th.
