This was a revenge contest for South Jefferson, as the team was forced to settle for a 55-53 loss when these two played last Saturday.
When it comes to explaining why Massena lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Patterson. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
South Jefferson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Massena, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
South Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against General Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Massena, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Franklin Academy at 7:45 p.m. on February 21st.
