The Ruskin Golden Eagles scored first but ultimately less than the Belton Pirates in their match on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 43-19 loss at the hands of the Pirates. Ruskin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ruskin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Adarious Brown, who threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
Ruskin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Belton, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Ruskin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Belton will face off against Webb City at TBD on Friday. Webb City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belton in Missouri (Webb City is ranked 18th, while Belton is ranked 106th).
