Colorado Academy's and Peak to Peak's contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but Colorado Academy turned on the heat in the second half with 32 points. Colorado Academy put the hurt on Peak to Peak with a sharp 48-28 victory. Colorado Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Colorado Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Johnson, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar May, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Jefferson Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Dayspring Christian Academy 43-37.
Colorado Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32 points. As for Jefferson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for Colorado Academy against Jefferson Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colorado Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
