The Delaware County Christian Knights stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 80-45 victory over MAST Community Charter on the road. Given Delaware County Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Panthers are ranked 445th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Delaware County Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Pruessner led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Pruessner scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Lyren, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Delaware County Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for MAST Community Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delaware County Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Churchmen at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Episcopal Academy is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Knights a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for MAST Community Charter, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
