North Yosemite recap November 13, 2013
Roosevelt scaled the state rankings by moving to 685 from 717 this week, the biggest jump in North Yosemite. The Rough Riders were able to move up by besting Fresno 56-6.
Sunnyside extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Reedley, 35-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Tristian Hernandez threw for 282 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Brandon Moua provided a threat through the air and on the ground as McLane topped Hoover. He completed 18 passes for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 105 yards. Moua's favorite target this week was Kenny Elder, who caught 9 passes for 155 yards.
Ivan Martinez was the best receiver in the league this week as Roosevelt beat the Warriors. Martinez racked up 4 receptions for 150 yards. Kurtis McCoy helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 47 yards.
Casey Quinn's team's Hernandez and McCoy led North Yosemite in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Hernandez has thrown for 2,820 yards this season, while McCoy has 64 catches for 1,189 yards. Ronald Davis from the Highlanders leads the league in rushing with 995 yards.
McLane's Davis needs only 5 yards against Kerman next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 161 carries Davis has accumulated 995 yard this year.
Pete Joseph's team's Moua is within 80 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Lions. Accruing a total of 17 touchdowns this year, Moua has thrown for 1,920 yards with 8 interceptions.
The Highlanders' Elder needs only 78 receiving yards against Kerman to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has acheived 73 catches for 922 yards.
The Rough Riders took down Fresno 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hernandez in the win.
