Basketball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy suffered their closest defeat since February 8th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Seton Catholic Sentinels by a score of 48-46. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Sentinels from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah McKinney posted 18 points and three steals. McKinney's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Lambe, who put up six points and 12 rebounds.

Seton Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Alvidrez led the charge by putting up 11 points. Jack Toyne was another key player, posting eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Seton Catholic, they moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will take on ALA - Ironwood at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seton Catholic, they will square off against Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benjamin Franklin will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Seton Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
