Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Parklane Academy Pioneers walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 63-41 win on Wednesday. Parklane Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Parklane Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlyle Carruth led the charge by scoring 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carruth has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Alford, who scored 18 points.
Parklane Academy's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Providence Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
Parklane Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-53 win vs. Copiah Academy on the 9th. Providence Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
