The Pittston Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Dunmore Bucks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Pittston made easy work of Berwick and carried off a 13-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Beau Widdick and Nick Innamoratti did most of the damage at the plate: Widdick went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Innamoratti went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Innamoratti a new career-high. Jacoby Harnen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pittston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
Dunmore came out on top against Western Wayne on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Bucks were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Wildcats.
Mason Stets spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Dunmore let Jamie McMynne and Evan Mizenko run wild. McMynne went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Mizenko went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That double marked the first that McMynne has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Cady, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Pittston's record now sits at 9-2. As for Dunmore, their record is now 7-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Pittston has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Dunmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pittston beat Dunmore 10-5 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
