Telluride has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Dove Creek Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Telluride has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three games.
Telluride pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nucla.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Grayson Berry, who scored 19 points. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. Townes Merritt was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Dove Creek beat Dolores 48-42 on Saturday. The win was just what Dove Creek needed coming off of a 53-32 defeat in their prior match.
Dove Creek found their leader in underclassman Josh Kibel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden Chadd, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Telluride's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Dove Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Telluride beat Dove Creek 34-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Telluride repeat their success, or does Dove Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
