The Rising Sun Shiners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwestern. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rising Sun has scored all season.

Simpson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carrigan Friend, who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwestern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashley Fulton, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Rorie Scroggins, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Rising Sun has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Southwestern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.
