Volleyball Recap: Evansville Mater Dei Comes Up Short

Evansville Mater Dei lost against North Posey back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Leah Heldman paced Evansville Mater Dei's offense, picking up 11 kills. Heldman got some help from Lauren Black and her 13 assists. Caroline Schultheis controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

North Posey can attribute much of their success to Mallory Luigs, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Evansville Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for North Posey, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Evansville Mater Dei didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Tecumseh on the 14th. As for North Posey, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Tell City on the 14th.
