It was a good run, but the DuSable Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 56-45 to Horizon Science Academy-Southwest. If DuSable hoped to take revenge for the 47-41 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, DuSable still got an impressive performance from Patrick Malone, who scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Malone has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ave'Veyon Watkins, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy-Southwest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaivon Payton, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Marlon Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
DuSable's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
DuSable does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Horizon Science Academy-Southwest also has no future games currently scheduled.
