The Seagoville Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Adams by a score of 46-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Seagoville came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Adams is ranked 815th).
When it comes to explaining why Seagoville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Travion Hall. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gregory Fossett, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Seagoville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Altrie Farris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Adams, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Terell Toomas, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Seagoville's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Adams, their win bumped their record up to 12-17.
Seagoville will head out on the road to take on Spruce at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Adams, they will be playing at home against Samuell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Samuell is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
