The Sierra Grande Panthers will take on the Centennial Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sierra Grande comes in on six and Centennial on three.
Sierra Grande is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Moffat: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sierra Grande blew Moffat out of the water with a 68-20 final score. With the Panthers ahead 38-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Jaylyn Quezada was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 en route to 21 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Yazmin Molina, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Sierra Grande smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Centennial didn't have too much trouble with Cripple Creek-Victor on Wednesday as they won 38-20. The Rams pushed the score to 30-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pioneers cut but never quite recovered from.
Sierra Grande better keep an eye on Laila Garcia. She was instrumental in Centennial's win, dropping a double-double on ten points and 20 boards. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Angeliyah Sandoval was another key player, putting up six points and seven steals.
Sierra Grande's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for Centennial, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sierra Grande has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sierra Grande strolled past Centennial in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 42-23. Does Sierra Grande have another victory up their sleeve, or will Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
