After losing to Kea'au the last time they met, Waiakea decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. On Saturday, Waiakea won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Kea'au 14-13. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose. The match pushed Kea'au down to 1-3 and pulled Waiakea up to the reverse at 3-1.
Next week Waiakea take on Hilo at 5:00 PM. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. Kea'au will be staying on the road, facing off against Kealakehe. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
