The Environmental Charter White Tigers and the Channel Islands Raiders squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Environmental Charter White Tigers had to settle for second. They suffered a tough 78-56 loss at the hands of the Raiders. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Environmental Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yari Delgado. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Delgado has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Quintin Allen was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Channel Islands was led to victory by Rajai Moody and Nazir Ivey. Moody scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Ivey dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ivey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Anguiano, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Environmental Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Channel Islands, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Environmental Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Channel Islands, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Dunn at 6:00 p.m. Channel Islands is on a six-game streak of home wins, Dunn a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
