The Upper Perkiomen Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Pottsgrove Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Pottsgrove will be up against a hot Upper Perkiomen team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Indians were the clear victors by a 25-4 margin over Norristown on Monday. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Lincoln Fijalkowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fijalkowski was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, Jack Rieg was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Benjamin Sands also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Upper Perkiomen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .763. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pottsgrove). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pottstown a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Falcons' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Pottsgrove also got a great performance from Austin Matthews as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, Matthews is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Drost, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. Luca Pennisi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Upper Perkiomen, their record now sits at 14-3.
Upper Perkiomen got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Pottsgrove by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
