The North Canyon Rattlers are taking a road trip to face off against the Verrado Vipers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Canyon is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
North Canyon came up short against Desert Edge on Monday, falling 20-1.
North Canyon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, while Verrado put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Youngker. The Vipers were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Roughriders. The Vipers haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Verrado got a massive performance out of Taryn Winberg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Winberg a new career-high. Nevaeh Stell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Verrado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Youngker only posted an OBP of .222.
Verrado's record now sits at 13-2. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. North Canyon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Verrado struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
North Canyon might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Verrado in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Rattlers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
