Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Sterling Golden Warriors, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against St. Francis on Saturday, falling 49-8. Sterling was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.
It was another big night for Alessio Milivojevic, who threw for 284 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dom Beres was another key contributor, gaining 42 total yards and two touchdowns.
Sterling now has a losing record at 5-6. As for St. Francis, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Sterling does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Francis will be playing in front of their home fans against Morgan Park at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Morgan Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
