JESSENIA MOORE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on CIARA BABCOCK, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. SAMI OLSON was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Temescal Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Valley View was able to grind out a solid victory over King on Thursday, taking the game 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.
Valley View also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Giselle Morales gave up only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Alyssa Torres was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Miranda Maese, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Temescal Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Valley View, their win bumped their record up to 24-4.
Both Temescal Canyon and Valley View just can't seem to miss. The Titans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Valley View struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Temescal Canyon couldn't quite finish off Valley View in their previous matchup back in February and fell 2-0. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
