Paxton is 9-1 against Hitchcock County since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Paxton Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hitchcock County Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Paxton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
After a string of four wins, Paxton's good fortune finally ran out. They fell 63-53 to Dundy County-Stratton. Paxton has struggled against Dundy County-Stratton recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Josh Eakins put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 20 points along with five rebounds. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddex McConnell, who scored eight points.
Paxton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dundy County-Stratton pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Hitchcock County suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 60-34 loss at the hands of Maywood/Hayes Center.
Paxton's record is now 10-6. As for Hitchcock County, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Paxton skirted past Hitchcock County 54-52 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Does Paxton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hitchcock County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
