South Platte and Bayard are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The South Platte Blue Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Bayard Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Platte is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Platte beat Arthur County 38-32.
South Platte's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabelle Reichman, who scored nine points along with three steals. Madison Cheleen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bayard gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perkins County 60-31 on the road. The victory was just what Bayard needed coming off of a 72-29 loss in their prior contest.
South Platte has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Bayard, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.
South Platte ended up a good deal behind Bayard in their previous meeting back in January, losing 45-28. Can South Platte avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
