The Olympic Trojans can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over South Aiken. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-16.
Olympic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was RANDY JOHNSON, who scored 17 points. The game was JOHNSON's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was JADEN HARDNETT, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, South Aiken still got an impressive performance from Ladontae Felton, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was Felton's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kyson McLeod was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, South Aiken were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympic only pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Olympic's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for South Aiken, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic will take on East Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Aiken, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield Central is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
