Westfield has gone 9-1 against Oakton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Westfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Westfield fell victim to Broad Run and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The match marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Westfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ciara Ramsey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Oakton came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Atoms a 22-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Oakton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Westfield beat Oakton 11-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
