The Harvest Community Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the ED White Commanders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Harvest Community will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run two weeks ago, then bounced right back against First Coast Christian on Monday. The Warriors blew past the Knights 16-2. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Mason Maple looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Quinn King and Eli Gammage did most of the damage at the plate: King went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Gammage went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave King a new career-high. Nate Barnett also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Harvest Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Coast Christian only posted an OBP of .421.
ED White came out on top against Northwestern on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Commanders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulls an 11-0 shutout.
Jachob Kaplitz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kaplitz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of ED White's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Dylan De Leon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Tonio Mitchell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
ED White pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Harvest Community, their record is now 9-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harvest Community has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like ED White struggles in that department as they've averaged .564. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Harvest Community might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from ED White in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
