Horizon Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 32-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Francis Knights.
Eli Pawlish had a dynamite game For St. Francis., rushing for 144 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards. Pawlish also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass. Steve Snyder was another key player, rushing for 79 yards and one score on only ten carries.
The win got St. Francis back to even at 1-1.
Horizon Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Community Christian at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for St. Francis, they will challenge Fideles Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
