The Circleville Tigers will head out to square off against the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Circleville has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.
Circleville lost 18-3 to Bloom-Carroll on Monday.
Claire Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amanda-Clearcreek). They were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over Hamilton Township on Monday. The Aces haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Casadee Steinmetz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Steinmetz was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ava Loel and Payton Singleton did most of the damage at the plate: Loel went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Singleton went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Averie Hutchison, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Amanda-Clearcreek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton Township only posted a batting average of .259.
Circleville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Everything went Circleville's way against Amanda-Clearcreek when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Circleville made off with a 16-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
