EL CAJON, Calif. - A big 35-point first quarter helped carry the Patriots to a 63-0 victory over Crawford (San Diego, Calif.) on Saturday.
Christian scored on a
Michael Carrillo touchdown pass to
Paris Miller, a touchdown run by Miller, a touchdown pass by Carrillo to
Phillip George, a Carrillo touchdown pass to
Kai Arvan and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Carrillo to Miller in the first quarter, the El Cajon school led 42-0 at the half.
The Patriots expanded their lead to 56 points entering the fourth quarter. Christian scored two times in the third, including once on a kick return.
The the Patriots raced to 35 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.
Christian's standout player in the win was Carrillo. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Patriots came in allowing an average of 22.0 points per game this season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Christian, which was coming off a 32-31 defeat at the hands of University City in its previous game.
