The Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Oasis Christian at home to the tune of 56-22. With Ridgeview Global Studies Academy ahead 33-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leading Ridgeview Global Studies Academy to victory were Chelsse Jean-Giles and Stephanie Morales. Jean-Giles dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Morales scored 20 points along with nine steals and eight assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morales has scored at least a third of Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's points.
Even though they lost, Oasis Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy pushed their record up to 6-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Oasis Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Four Corners at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Four Corners focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday. As for Oasis Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Geneva Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Geneva Classical Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
