The Mineral County Serpents suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 66-25 defeat at the hands of Sage Ridge. Mineral County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sage Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2016.
Despite the loss, Mineral County still got an impressive performance from Taiylor Sanchez, who scored seven points along with seven steals. Sanchez hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayona Kimmins, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Mineral County's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-11. As for Sage Ridge, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mineral County will take on Coleville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sage Ridge, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
