The Agua Dulce Longhorns lost against the Freer Buckaroos back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Agua Dulce fell to Freer 40-35.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Calvez, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Calvez scored a full 31.4% of Agua Dulce's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alyssa Vinton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Agua Dulce bumped their record down to 9-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Freer, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Agua Dulce and Falfurrias will round out the year against one another at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at. Falfurrias is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
