The Nixa Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Ozark, posting a 51-7 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Nixa, who have now won five matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.
Nixa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Rider, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Rider is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Dylan Rebura was another key contributor, rushing for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Nixa's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Ozark and 1-8 Carl Junction (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.9% over those games). As for Ozark, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Nixa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ozark will head out on the road to face off against Waynesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesville is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
