The Brillion Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Southern Door. Brillion was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southern Door apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Brillion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grace Krueger, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Hale, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Brillion were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Brillion's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Southern Door, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Brillion will challenge Hilbert at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hilbert is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Southern Door will be home for the holidays to greet Gibraltar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (Gibraltar is ranked 346th, while Southern Door is ranked 357th).
