The Huntington Beach Oilers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glendora Tartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Huntington Beach ended up a good deal behind Corona del Mar and lost 42-28. Huntington Beach has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Huntington Beach saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Young, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Hunter Gray, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Glendora was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 22-21 to Colony.
Glendora's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Timothy Johnson, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Eric Najarro who threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Huntington Beach has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Glendora, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
