Baseball Recap: Palmyra Has No Trouble Against Canton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmyra). They put the hurt on the Canton Tigers with a sharp 11-1 win on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Bryant Horstmeier was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Raeson Miller, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Palmyra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Palmyra's win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will venture away from home to face off against Moberly at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Canton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Canton Tigers face off against Monroe City Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
