Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garber). They never let the Glenn Bobcats get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Dukes as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Ava Wagner was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Zwetzig, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Garber kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glenn only managed one hit.
Garber's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Glenn, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.
