The Spring Mountain Eagles took a 45-point loss the last time they faced off against the Round Mountain Knights, but they managed to turn things around on Friday. Spring Mountain sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over Round Mountain. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Round Mountain still got an impressive performance from Blake Bullington, who scored 31 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bullington has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Banks, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Spring Mountain's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.1 points. As for Round Mountain, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Mountain will challenge Tonopah at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Round Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Carlin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlin is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
