The Orange Tornadoes suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Millburn by a score of 77-75. Orange has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Millburn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach Benmorits led the charge by scoring 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Benmorits has scored at least a third of Millburn's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Plotkin, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Orange's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Millburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange will take on Montclair at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Montclair knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Orange likes a good challenge. As for Millburn, they will be playing at home against Verona at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verona is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
